On Tuesday, June 06, 2023, the webinar "Preparing for the Migration from Daint-GPU to Grace-Hopper on Alps" took place online.
In late 2023, Alps will receive a large installation of nodes with NVIDIA Grace-Hopper processors, replacing Daint-GPU for computationally heavy workloads in early 2024. This webinar will give an overview of the Grace-Hopper architecture - a tightly coupled ARM CPU and NVIDIA GPU - and of how the nodes on the system will be configured. We will discuss the impact of the new architecture on workloads and applications and how users can prepare themselves for the transition.
