Do you want to know what it’s like to work in IT Support at CSCS? We spent a day with Melania Bernasconi, one of our IT Support people who has been at CSCS since 2010.

How would you describe a regular day in IT Support at CSCS?

Every day is different but every day is good. I work in a team with Alessandro and David, the apprentice. I like working in a team with competent smiley, happy and energetic people. Together we manage all problems that our colleagues can have and we provide several services, which are essential for their work. We also deal with multimedia devices such as videoconferencing systems and webcams.

Which projects are you currently working on?

At the moment I don’t have any specific project but the focus of every day is to provide the best support to our internal customers and maintain all services and systems up to date.

In which team do you work and how many members does your team have?

I work in the BUS-IT team that is comprised of 3 people.

What do you like most about working in IT Support at CSCS? What is the most rewarding part of your work at CSCS?

The thing that I like best about my job is the contact with colleagues, which gives us the opportunity to learn from each other. The most rewarding job is to fix a problem, especially if the problem was a tough one to catch.

What motivates you to go to work every day?

I love my job. My position allows me to keep in touch with all my colleagues and the work environment is so pleasant.

Which are your next projects?

To continue to improve my skills by attending courses related to my job and to improve the services for my users.
