We would like to invite you to join CSCS Staff for the event “CSCS User Lab Day 2024 – Meet the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre”, to be held on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the Hochschule  Luzern, located in Luzern, Switzerland. The event will end with an apero to allow further discussions and questions.

1. How to use and build HPC software at CSCS: a practical introduction

• User environments
  • CPE: briefly document that it is there
  • Uenv
    • accessing, starting, using SLURM, etc 
    • Using CSCS provided scientific software 
    • Building software: spack, views, modules

2. Interactive Supercomputing

• Introduction to JupyterLab: A web-based interactive development environment for notebooks, code and data
• Introduction to FirecREST: a REST interface for programming access to HPC resources
  • Show and tell existing use cases of FirecREST to start conversation about what it enables
