  • Welcome to Lugano

Lugano lies in a bay on the northern side of Lake Ceresio, surrounded by numerous mountains that offer splendid viewpoints.

The traffic-free historic and picturesque town centre, the numerous Italian-style buildings, the exclusive museums, the mountains, the lake and a packed calendar of events invite visitors to see the sights and soak up the atmosphere.

Lugano, the largest town in the holiday region of Ticino, is an important financial, banking, and business centre. It is also a town of parks and flowers, villas, and sacred buildings.

With its Mediterranean flair, Lugano offers all the advantages of a world-class city combined with the cachet of a small town. Read more.

Good to know: Guests staying in appointed hotels, hostels or campings in the Ticino Region and subject to the full tourist tax can request at the check-in a free Ticino ticket, a public transport pass valid in the Ticino region for the duration of their stay.
